Lorne: Once the word spreads you beat up an innocent old man, well, the truly terrible will think twice before going toe-to-toe with our Avenging Angel. Spike: Yes. The geriatric community will be soiling their nappies when they hear you're on the case. Bravo.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

"Normal" is one of my favorites.

What really had me thinking about that one is why did Norman have the gun in the gift box when he did his first shooting? He was going to his wife's "Yay, promotion!" party--was he intending to wipe out the entire party, but got diverted when he experienced the high of killing the woman who looked like his wife?

I think that the gun was a gift for his wife.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I watched it again during the marathon and was still unclear on when he shot his family.

The second time I watched I thought that it was when he put on his robe after his wife's party and walked to his daughters' bedroom doors. The first time we see it, he just stops in the hallway before opening their doors, but in the flashback, we see him going in and firing, wearing the same pjs and robe.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm just baffled as to why he was giving his wife a loaded gun.

Well, he was kind of an idiot, he might have thought that was a good gift. I mean, did you see the tie that he was wearing in the beginning :)

Bad taste in neckwear is always a sign of incipient mental collapse, as we know!

That's what made me think he was just disguising it by putting it in the gift box. I really think he meant to kill her and probably a few coworkers at the party.
