The second time I watched I thought that it was when he put on his robe after his wife's party and walked to his daughters' bedroom doors. The first time we see it, he just stops in the hallway before opening their doors, but in the flashback, we see him going in and firing, wearing the same pjs and robe.

I'm just baffled as to why he was giving his wife a loaded gun.
Well, he was kind of an idiot, he might have thought that was a good gift. I mean, did you see the tie that he was wearing in the beginning :)
Bad taste in neckwear is always a sign of incipient mental collapse, as we know!
well dang, one of my broadcast channels has stopped showing 3 b2b episodes of criminal minds every mon and tues night :( Now gonna have to wait for the DVDs from library to get my fix.

That's what made me think he was just disguising it by putting it in the gift box. I really think he meant to kill her and probably a few coworkers at the party.
erin, Ion has stopped doing the Criminal Minds so much and is now showing old episodes of Without a Trace ... I'm not sure if this is good or bad at this point.
The ION schedule has changed, but not by a lot. Tonight it's 3 eps from 9 to midnight. Tomorrow 2 eps from 10-midnight. Thursday one ep at 11 pm. Friday nothing.
Next week it's the same, with Monday following the Tuesday schedule...
Yay! I'm watching CM right now :)
Either this Sunday or next, they're going to start showing S5 CM on A&E, right before they air eps of their new series, The Glades.
