I can't think of the last high profile woman caught in an affair. Of course, as I typed that, I remembered Iris Robinson an Irish politician who had an an affair with a 19 year old. She was 59. Yes, her last name really is Robinson.

“Not dead yet!”

I would question if this necessarily holds true for women in the public eye though. I mean, maybe it does, but I would speculate that famous women are and feel a) considerably more scrutinized and b) less able to weather the career consequences. So they might well be less likely to go there.

Liz Taylor is one of the few I think managed to survive it and even so, at the time, she was absolutely vilified. I mean, she'd been riding a wave of sympathy as the grieving widow, then next thing you know, she's breaking up the marriage of America's Sweetheart.

It's amazing, given the era, that she managed to survive and managed to be given some of the largest roles of her career afterwards. I guess the scandal was still good box office, morals be damned.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

What about Leann Rimes? Tori Spelling?

What about Leann Rimes?

forgot about her. I think that women forgave her because Eddie Cibrian is so damned hot.

Tori Spelling?

did anyone care?

Also, Princess Diana.

I think that there was a lot of speculation, but it was never proven. And she was villified, but it was more because Dodi was "of color" than anything else, I think.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Not Dodi - the horse riding guy and her head of security dude, also.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I do think there's a difference when the next relationship overlaps with the prior (like both LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian), as opposed to just screwing around on your partner.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I also wonder if married, high profile women, tend to have affairs with married, high profile men who would be equally interested in keeping the relationship secret.

It's when you have an affair with a single person that the fit really could hit the shan with respect to blackmail. However, either spouse could lose his/her shit though.

Not too many high profile women seem to do the Tiger Woods or Jesse James where you have texts from dozens of men in the cell phone.
