I still pant over Garner every time I watch The Great Escape. Oh, and David McCallum.
I'm a recent NCIS convert, and I get whiplash every time I see a movie with young!McCallum and think of him as Ducky.

I'd watch a Rockford Files with Nathan Fillion in it.
I didn't know until now, but I would too.
A friend sent me this link about Rockford Files casting. As soon as I saw the title I thought of Fillion, but it turned out that totally wasn't why she sent it to me.
Well, Fillion's got a good gig, currently, but it would definitely work.

OK, maybe not 100% unthinkable. But I prefer NF where he is at the moment.

How had I forgotten about that article? I'd already read the NF idea. No wonder it pinged me as so right. Ah, senior moments.
Much as I like him, I can't really see Colin as was also suggested. But I'd probably watch it anyway.
I think Colin could do it. But I don't know if he's shown that onscreen yet.
eta: But Nathan is definitely my #1 pick.
I'm pretty much just going off Eureka (and that short-lived horror series he did an episode of).
He has a deft hand with the irreverence and the flirtatiousness. And the sudden pulls for audience sympathy.
Yeah, and I could picturing him conning his way in somewhere, too. And he screws up onscreen without looking like a total schmuck, right? Which I think is a very "Rockford" quality...Rockford isn't cool all the time...he's not McGarrett(or Lance White)
