That's what I was wondering! As a recent fan of the show, I thought I was missing something, but until last night, I never got the impression that these two guys hung out outside of work. And the way that Tony just strolled into the room with the six-pack of beer definitely felt like it had happened before.

Regarding DiNozzo's mom, there is also this from wikipedia that I remember: She [Tony's mom] went through a "Louis XV phase" when Tony was ten that inspired the decor of his childhood bedroom and gave him vampire nightmares.

It has been shown in previous episodes that Tony knows that Gibbs always keeps his door unlocked and Tony is aware of this.

Tony stayed with Gibbs when he had problems with his apartment and he knew that Gibbs kept his door unlocked previous to that. It's unclear, however, how widespread a piece of knowledge Gibbs' unlocked door is.
