He is the Best Dad Evar.
This may be the first Castle episode I rewatch, because there were so many moments in it I just enjoyed the hell out of. Also, Castle as Edgar Allan Poe - too funny.
I laughed a lot. and really found the mystery intersting. And the father/ daughter thing is getting better. he is being more of a dad. I liked it.
Interesting post about the portrayal of pain management and addiction on House
Good post. There's hasn't been enough criticism of the way the show handles all of that.
My only quibble with Castle was they went with the "traumatized kids" trope. But, otherwise, refreshingly non-judgmental. I'd be leery of, say, Bones tackling the same sub-culture.

Yeah, but it was nice how they integrated it, within the scope of the art, as opposed to strictly through the subculture. From that standpoint, I thought it was really well done.
For lightweight, mainstream-network show, they handled it very well. For instance, the victim's bisexuality was brought up and absolutely nothing was made of it.

I really loved the switch from Happy!Shiny!Castle to Dad!Castle. I also loved that he went and got his daughter, no questions asked until everyone was safe.
Yes, that was great.
And they kind of undercut the childhood trauma thing with Castle's story.

Yeah, I did like that a lot.

I liked that he wasn't going to lecture or yell, but he also wasn't going to let the friend off the hook with her parents.
