One of the few reasons I'm giving The Mentalist another chance:
Tunney also says viewers will see a slightly grittier show this season, thanks to The Mentalist's new 10/9c timeslot. She notes in particular that the details of Red John's murders will be more graphic

am highly disturbed by the conversations at TWoP about what exactly happened to Hotchner.
I'm not venturing into TWoP; I value my few remaining shreds of sanity. But I do wonder if they're thinking what I'm thinking. Because
that whole scene was creepily sexual, to my mind. That may say too much about me, though.
Bones: I love contented kitties purring over their dinner.
Zenkitty, that's exactly it. If he wants to break with the profile of stabbing being a substitute for penile penetration, there's one obvious way to do it.
But someone went the extra mile and called back to Elle's descriptions of how the Fisher King treated her and suggested that it was
newly created orifices that were penetrated,
and really, that's further than show needs to go.
Oh yeah. That's several steps too far. Yikes.
I wonder what will come of it.

that totally squicked me out. I agreed with Booth.
Yeah the kitties on Bones were ewww. As was the
flesh falling off the face

in the trunk
.
Bones: I also didn't appreciate the scene cutting straight to the corpse head, and Cam taking out its gross eyeball.
Not a dinnertime show, that's for sure.
Not a dinnertime show, that's for sure.
And yet? Usually always on at the time I'm about to eat dinner.
*sigh*

I know, it's like they have a competition going for "How many people can we make regret eating their dinner this week?" It's gotten so I find myself looking forward to Gross Body of the Week. It's got to be a great portfolio, though, for whatever effects house they're using.
