Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

This revived my interest in NCIS. For a bit, I was afraid they were actually going to kill Ziva. I liked it when Tony called McGee his partner. I missed all of last season, so maybe that's not actually a new thing.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's new. I like the camaraderie between them. The teamwork, them going for dinner, them having a plan to talk to Gibbs about getting a new team member. He didn't even call him Probie or McGeek once. And McGee wasn't snippy or particularly intellectually superior-acting.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Much preferred the NCIS opener. There's nothing better than a snarky Tony and I loved his description of Gibbs as a functional mute. Hee. And I even liked McGee. He didn't pull too much of a condescending attitude and there was good solid teamwork between him and Tony. Very enjoyable.

I haven't seen NCIS yet because TCG had a meeting and he wants to see it too, but I always like McGee!

NCIS: When Tony referred to Abby as the "happiest goth you'll ever meet", did anyone else think, "He obviously hasn't met Jilli"?

sj, yes! That's exactly what I thought!

And now I am thinking that Jilli needs to make a guest appearance on NCIS to promote her book.

I know what I liked about it - the "squabbling adolescents/stern but loving father figure" thing was fun, but it was getting old. It's good to see the team growing up, dealing with each other and Gibbs from a more mature perspective.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Exactly. I hope they keep this going through the season. They did so much backsliding last season, I was ready to give up on them.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

Yes. I know Tony's supposed to be charming and amusing, but I had gotten to the point where I only found him annoying and distasteful. They had definitely sunk into a rut; almost every other time he got to say anything, Tony would start spouting movie quotes. Ziva constantly made malapropisms that were sexual in nature. Abby wasn't delightfully original anymore, she was just fluttery. And I became overly tired of the "probie" title long ago. I would have the show on in the background but didn't pay much attention to it. If the writers are finally allowing the characters to mature I'll have to watch the screen again.

I'm not sure the showrunner is on the same page as we are--he seems to be consumed with the idea of teasing us with Tony/Ziva, whether or not it ever happens.

But I hope they do grow up, including Gibbs, who needs to stop slapping them in the back of the head, no matter how they act. It's just wrong.

Liked Criminal Minds mostly on the strength of Thomas Gibson's performance, and he was only in the second half. I hate to see him cry. I had to suppress giggles with all the "casually" sitting Reid before they got him shot.

Reaper's back in play, maybe for a while, and bonus DB Sweeney! Always good.
