Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I want to say she looked older than in L&O:CI, but that's not precisely it. Haunted.

“Not dead yet!”

Mentalist was all kinds of creepy last night.

Oddly enough, the sherriff pinged me right at the beginning of the episode, but once the big reveal happened, it was like he was chewing scenery. Way too much with the crazy.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

About 10 minutes before the sheriff reveal, I said to myself: I wonder why they didn't think that Red John or someone close to him was in law enforcement. The way he has covered up his crimes and knows the actions of investigators makes me think that that he knows quite a bit about law enforcement.

I watch WAY too much crime.

Alicia Witt did a much better job on this show than L&O:CI. Her character was written wrong on that show.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I was really hoping that finally there would be violence against Jane, and walked away disappointed yet again.

Buttstock to the head! Tie him up! Gooooore!!!!!

And when there was violence, with Lisbon, I couldn't see anything!

“Not dead yet!”

Yeah, but Julie, the scene with the shotgun-- how Jane looked at first so full of resolve, then stunned, followed by the way he just dropped/tossed the gun? That was just really beautifully done by Simon, I thought.

Oh, and I absolutely loved the Big Boss last night. In some ways, he understands Jane better than Lisbon.

It doesn't strike me as a 10 o'clock show. But at least there's nothing on NBC.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

The sherriff bothered me, but I think that it was more the chewing gum like a cow than the sociopathness (although technically, he's probably more psychopathic)

Art Crawl!!!

Who played the Sherriff - he looked familiar but I couldn't remember from what.

BTW, it looks like Jeremy Northam is in one of CBS's midseason replacement shows.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

You know, I'm really really tired of shows using a sort-of-southern accent to indicate that someone's stupid/ lower class/ criminal. I mean, the sheriff in Mentalist was from California, and as far as I know, even in southern CA you don't get that kind of accent (family farm - means he grew up there!). snarl

And Supernatural once did a show set in, I believe, Michigan ... and the family that was grabbing people and taking them home for supper all had drawls. grrr
