Art Crawl!!!

Who played the Sherriff - he looked familiar but I couldn't remember from what.

BTW, it looks like Jeremy Northam is in one of CBS's midseason replacement shows.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

You know, I'm really really tired of shows using a sort-of-southern accent to indicate that someone's stupid/ lower class/ criminal. I mean, the sheriff in Mentalist was from California, and as far as I know, even in southern CA you don't get that kind of accent (family farm - means he grew up there!). snarl

And Supernatural once did a show set in, I believe, Michigan ... and the family that was grabbing people and taking them home for supper all had drawls. grrr

NCIS does that a lot too. Particularly if they're showing local law enforcement -- if they have a suth'rn accent, they're stupid. Or crooked. Or both.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

the scene with the shotgun-- how Jane looked at first so full of resolve, then stunned, followed by the way he just dropped/tossed the gun? That was just really beautifully done by Simon, I thought.

That was great, Barb. Loved that, how he took himself by surprise.

::Skipped to the end because I haven't watched Bones or House for a month or more::

Did Medium watchers notice how the storyline last night cut the acting budget for next year?

Medium. The maturity and 'reality' of the Dubois marriage is one of the very best things about that show.

Yeah, what's up with that? I'll poke around and see if I can find any scuttlebutt when I have time. At first, I thought, "Great! They can invigorate their stories by transplanting them all to San Diego." Then the idea of Scanlon not being around really depressed me. I want to see him being a dad with Deputy Mayor. I can't picture the show without Joe in it for the same reasons bonny points out. Seriously, they can't do that! (He needs a haircut.)

eta: [link] Medium: Safe bet. Reportedly renewed for 13-16 episodes. Canceled by NBC; expected to move to CBS.

Add'l eta. Interesting link, if you haven't been following renewals - it's all the shows and their renewal status. Bones is officially renewed for TWO seasons. TSCC is officially gone (boo!).

Yay, Bones! But then Fox needs dependable shows.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The ending for Criminal Minds took me by surprise. I guessed which unsub was coming back, but I thought it would be for Morgan, since he has his ID.

I just read that Without A Trace wasn't picked up! I didn't know it was on the bubble. It's such a CBS standard-type show. I'm surprised. For this we get NCIS:LA? I love the Cool J as ladies do, but that's not a fair trade.

Trust my rage

Yay for Bones! I love that crazy show.

But that's too bad about WaT. It's totally my watch while browsing the internet show. I actually didn't think it was all the great this year. It is sort of weird though that it will end with Danny and Elena getting married off camera and Sam and Jack breaking up on camera

Art Crawl!!!

Clearly I'm not up on CM as much as I should be - what was the history behind that unsub at the end?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

He played a Boston unsub that savagely killed couples and faked an attack on himself. He went quiet years ago because he made a deal with the officer in charge that if he stopped searching for him, he'd stop killing. He started up again when the officer died, and tried to make the same deal with Hotch (while working with them pretending to be a victim). Hotch said no, and he killed again, including attacking Morgan, knocking him unconscious and stealing his FBI ID. They caught him, but he escaped from holding.

Played by C Thomas Howell, who they actually got back for that brief masked performance.
