Am I supposed to be changing my clothes a lot? Is that the helpful thing to do?

I'm rewatching my Season 1 NCIS disks, and I can see some of the vibe that would feed the Tibbs thing, but I don't picture Gibbs in a relationship with a co-worker. And it's hard to imagine the power outlines in a relationship with Tony because they are not status equals.

Ah, no, the famous Rule Twelve! Never date a co-worker. That doesn't stop the slash-ficcers, though. Thank heavens. Hee. And the relationship is more interesting because the power isn't equal.

Besides, S1 has Tony mentioning the last time he stayed at Gibbs' place and Gibbs saying "You remember what happened," then "the door's unlocked."

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

any hope of Tibbs

Was there really any? I completely don't see it. Also, isn't talk of an eventual Tiva spoilery?

“Not dead yet!”

Sweets sings rather nicely.

Yeah, it was nice seeing that part of John Francis Daley. He got his start in the touring productions of Tommy as young Tommy and auditioned several times for the part of Gavroche in Les Miz, but was always too short.

In show reality? No. Too many redheaded actresses to feed into Gibbs fetish, they can play with that forever. But the show is totally slashtastic, whether you're looking for Tibbs, Tony/Tim, Tim/Gibbs, hell, Fornell/Gibbs. One rerun today ("Leap of Faith") had Tim and Tony waiting to interview a shrink and they got into an argument that made the shrink think they were there for couples therapy.

I don't think talking about Tiva is spoilery. Whether or not they end up in the sack eventually, it's definitely implied that there has been something building between them for a long time. They started laying down that arc with Ziva's overbearing concern that something was wrong with Tony when he first started the undercover op with Jeanne Benoit two seasons ago. Tiva exists, whether it ever gets to a physical relationship or not is the only thing to be seen and there's been massive specualation about that forever.

I dunno... "there's still the big Tony/Ziva hookup to come" sounds like a statement of upcoming developments.

I've been avoiding reading anything that might flat out state it as a given. Anything I've read has been implication only.

And going by the way the Bones writers hedged on their bets, I'm more than happy to stick my head in the sand and go "lalala, I can't hear you."

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

I promise I don't know any of the NCIS writer, or what they're planning for the show. I was drawing from all the heavy-handed reactions of Ziva to Tony's relationship with his undercover mark (Jeanne?) and the dreadfully leaden and awkward banter between the two of them. But if you're concerned that I inadvertently led people to believe that a hookup is inevitable I can always delete my post.

And Ziva's continuing "Are you jealous?" riffs recently are particularly heavy handed. I'd be more willing to see Tony/Abby, though I think McGee/Abby should have a resurgence.
