So, Hallucination!Amber is House's worst tendencies brought to life. At least now he knows he can't trust this angle on his brain.

This was my least favorite Castle thus far. I thought the case story was weak , but the character stuff was pretty good.
I thought even the character stuff on Castle was a bit weak. The mystery really was lame, and don't tell me that cops wouldn't realize that a borrowed SS number means that someone is running from something in their past, although I originally thought witness protection program, not fake ID.
I thought witness protection program too.
But if a protected witness had been murdered - wouldn't the FBI been on the scene pretty quickly?
House has the best hallucinations. Now his own id can't be trusted.
"It's Foreman's case."
"We could kill him."
"His mother won't allow it."
"We could kill her."
"I think he's going to hit us."
"Do you have better eyesight than I do?"
And when he finally gets a night's sleep and thinks he's fine--then turns around and sees Hallucination!Amber... Is House more than a little insane or does he just have an over-developed guilt complex and a very active mental life?
No one's id can be trusted, that's part of being an id. But now he knows it's not just his impulses that are untrustworthy, his diagnostic conclusions were also wrong and his team didn't get the right answer until he had checked out.
I'm curious why they went with him seeing Amber rather than Kutner. Apart from any meta reasons due to Kal Penn's availibility. I'm guessing because while Kutner is the current source of his issues, he feels much guiltier about Amber and knows it deep down.
At least House recognizes when he's a danger. Too bad he needs more than a decent night's sleep. Next week will be interesting, to see if he's willing to trust himself at all with Amber haunting him.
Seeing his thought processes visually is fun. But he needs someone around he's willing to be that vulnerable around. I don't know if Wilson would work. It's too bad Stephen Fry isn't likely to reprise the shrink character he was playing on Bones. I would so adore seeing Fry and Laurie together again.

That would be fun. Possibly overwhelming in the meta sense, but fun.
I read somewhere that he was going to do one, but you know how that stuff goes...could be just wishful thinking.
