So, how was your summer? Mine was fun. Saw some fish. Went mad with hunger. Hallucinated a whole bunch.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Rand Ravich was right, if Life doesn't come back, I'm hella satisfied with how it ended. The last two minutes I had a giant cat-ate-the-canary grin on my face.

How much do I adore how Charlie took Roman out? The elegant simplicity of it. The badassery. So Zen, so Charlie Crews.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Just holy-shit-awesomeness.

Damn.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I need to take those words back and apply them to the end of the show, or find better, greater-than holy-shit-awesome adjectives.

Thrive to spite them

Anyone watch The Unusuals tonight? ABC's new crime drama with Amber Tamblyn?

I've got it Tivoed. I'll probably watch it tomorrow-- I have such a weak spot for Jeremy Renner.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I did. You know, it was a heckuva lot better than I was expecting. BTW, I thought this show was a show about police officers who have super powers. So I was disappointed that this wasn't the case. I'm not sure why I thought they had superpowers. Maybe it was wishful thinking on my part?

Anyway, I thought it was a pretty decent cop show. It isn't perfect, but I was definitely entertained. I liked the quirkiness of the cops and that they weren't TOO quirky. I'm glad depressed cop dialed it down by the end.

I'm a sucker for a mystery, too - and they got me there. I hope they resolve these mysteries soon enough.

Thrive to spite them

The one guy, brain tumor cop, may have some weird super power. The show was quirky without being over the top. And I liked the Dispatcher and some of the stuff in the background. Like the dispatcher was describing crimes commited but ladies in matching pink and white sweaters and a couple scenes later, there they are in the back ground in hand cuffs looking feisty.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

I'm a little predisposed to love "The Unusuals" for a lot of reasons, but I have to say, I thought it hit all the right notes, and had a good sense of when to dial up the seriousness. Also, jailed guy in a hot dog suit. Awesome.

I'm usually not a cop show guy, but now I'm watching two. Huh.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I loved Life tonight. The perfect zen moment of Charlie culminating in killing Roman. And he didn't need a bigger gun.

Always Anti-fascist!

It's cute, but not, dare I say it, Unusual. (well, not to me, but I'm all about the Procedurals.) And the copier gag from H:LOTS getting ripped off made me sort of annoyed. Even though I know real police have used it before and since, and maybe commenting on it is a lot of meta. But I want it, anyway. It's sorta H:LOTS meets Barney Miller meets...I dunno. Gilmore Girls?
