I'm a little predisposed to love "The Unusuals" for a lot of reasons, but I have to say, I thought it hit all the right notes, and had a good sense of when to dial up the seriousness. Also, jailed guy in a hot dog suit. Awesome.
I'm usually not a cop show guy, but now I'm watching two. Huh.
I loved Life tonight. The perfect zen moment of Charlie culminating in killing Roman. And he didn't need a bigger gun.
It's cute, but not, dare I say it, Unusual.
(well, not to me, but I'm all about the Procedurals.)
And the copier gag from H:LOTS getting ripped off made me sort of annoyed.
Even though I know real police have used it before and since, and maybe commenting on it is a lot of meta.
But I want it, anyway.
It's sorta H:LOTS meets Barney Miller meets...I dunno. Gilmore Girls?
I loved Life tonight! Damian Lewis was on FIRE. They sure unspooled a lot in one episode, but it felt good.
Definitely loved last night's Life! It did a good job of wrapping up enough storylines that I won't be pissed off if it doesn't get renewed (although I really hope it does, of course). Even Ted got a decent resolution ("Went to Spain" was a nice touch, but I can't remember why he had more money than Charlie or Rayburn--was it the embezzlement?).
So glad to see the interviewer offed (yes, I'm cruel that way), since it served to make Roman even more menacing. And I liked how Charlie got out of the car, by pointing out to the henchmen that they now had the ability to make a choice without it affecting their families' safety and leaving it up to them.
And I knew that lady FBI agent was up to no good!!!
no kidding! As soon as we found out Reese was kidnapped, I knew FBI lady was dirty.
Anyone watch Criminal Minds last night? I was absolutely chilled by the kid playing Adam-- looked him up, discovered he'd a) been in the Sparkly Vampire movie (with an atrocious hairstyle) and that he's going to be playing Sokka in the Airbender film.
He was really, really good.
Life was just so damn good.
I tivoed the Unusuals and will watch tonight.
Jeffrey Bell talks about
Harper's Island.
Charlie is definately top 5 fictional boyfriends. OMG I love this show. I almost didn't watch or tape it tonight and I have not watched last week's ep yet, damn that was some good stuff. Do we really believe Dani's dad is dead? Are other's satisfied with the Rayburn mastermind of what?, ring of dirty cops, crime syndicate thing? The empty spaces on his wall bother the completist in me.
They bother me too.
I didn't quite understand what Rayburn wanted Crews to be - I mean, why pick a good cop to be the head of a ring of bad cops?
