I had Chuck listed On Demand on Comcast: under Fall Preview
Ah, I was looking under the section where they put all the different networks individually (I think it's called "TV Entertainment"?). Anyway, as soon as I'm in front of a TV screen again, I'll check the Fall Preview section. Thanks for the heads up.
The Mentalist
was kinda good (found it already streaming on CBS.com). Not a huge fan of Robbin Tunney, but Simon Baker more than makes up for her.
Was this the show that was supposed to have it's first episode end more shockingly than
Profit?
It's fucked up, but nowhere in the same league as a
naked guy in a carboard box
.

Yeah? The commercials made it look like Psych without the funny, which didn't sound so appealing
Sure, there's no Gus, but it's got plenty of humor. Just not laugh-out-loud. And I personally find Psych to be annoying and unfunny 90% of the time.
Most importantly, Simon Baker is adorable, especially his "I didn't sleep a wink last night" rumpled unshaven scene with the Big Gulp.
I would almost compare him to Greggory House, in that he uses his intelligence and powers of observation to stir up trouble amongst his colleagues and everyone else around him. Except not as mean or miserable. Maybe a little mean. But with a smile!
I'm going to watch it on Friday when they repeat the pilot.
On Demand is a pita for me since I got tivo. It is possible that I need new batteries from my comcast remote.

That's what I was thinking too, but OTOH

I kind of agree with this. Not quite 90%, but I find that the main character can be really annoying. Unfortunately, I love Gus and they sometimes are hilarious, like the show about the duet singing contest where they did the Tears for Fears/Michael Jackson thing.
Any time there's singing involved Psych is golden.
Did anyone post this? It's an interview with Doris Egan, a
House
writer. She talks quite a bit about fan fiction and House/Wilson. [link]
That is a terrific article. Doris Egan is one of us!
