Funny thing about black and white. You mix it together and you get gray. And it doesn't matter how much white you try and put back in, you're never gonna get anything but gray.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Carla Gallo is the lab tech type person in the preview-- from Undeclared and carnivale. The reach of Judd Apatow is large.

“Not dead yet!”

Yeah, Sweets was the best part of this ep, even if he is a dumbass.

Sweets is that beautiful combination of his brilliance and the naivete of his age/experience, which is in some ways what they wanted with Zach, but they wrote him into such a corner with the uberbrilliance and literal nature.

Overall, the ep felt overwritten and most of the major characters like they were, well, out of character. I simply can't see Angela having reacted that way to Cam having slept with her ex. In fact, I was convinced when she first saw Cam afterwards, that she had guessed and next thing we would see was the two of them dishing and Hodgins walking in on them and then having an exasperated fit. The way it happened-- breaking them up, just felt so unbelievably forced.

And I'm sorry-- someone who'd been military, who'd been stationed overseas, would be not just aware but a little more sensitive to cultural differences, so no, the boorish American shtick didn't work for me either.

I want the cast to be back together-- it looks like from some of the previews they showed that some of the zip and chemistry is back.

My objections, one and all, Barb. Glad you have the good words.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

And the Scotland yard detective: Susie from Torchwood!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

In fact, I was convinced when she first saw Cam afterwards, that she had guessed and next thing we would see was the two of them dishing and Hodgins walking in on them and then having an exasperated fit.

That's exactly what I thought - it looked like she gave Cam a little nod and I was all "oh, she's not fooling her at all."

Mark Valley did that Booth role a lot more naturally and subtly in Keen Eddie. Way too over the top.

And the whole mirroring thing was just too...I don't know, self-aware or something. It all felt very forced.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Yeah, they were definitely trying too hard, especially with the English reverse-Booth/Brennan. Everything was way too on the nose.

Some good character bits, nonetheless, but all too much sacrificing of characters along the way too.

OH SHIT!! Didn't even notice that. Well, at least she didn't get killed (or turn out to be the villain) this time.

Of course it does put her liberal sexual attitudes in a whole different light.

AND now I want a Bones/Torchwood x-over, complete with an appearance from Capt. John.

Yeah, the Angela/Hodgins thing was dumb. Somebody at the network must have said "That's boring! Break them up!"

And now a search for an assistant, which I guess they figured even they couldn't shoehorn into the premiere.

Susie from Torchwood!

Well, snap. I knew I'd seen her somewhere. Don't ask me why, but I really want to slash her with Brennan.
