I wonder if Nathan was signed on for another season until all the public outcry made ABC reconsider a renewal/retooling?

This thread is for procedural TV, shows where the primary idea is to figure out the case. [NAFDA]
He was.
I fear he is actually not nice. Sad face.
I haven't really paid attention so I wasn't sure why they broke up/had to fake it. But even though the show was called Castle you can't have the show without Beckett. It makes no sense. It seemed like they ran out of ideas and I've read rumors about how Nathan and Stana didn't get along but I don't know if those were true. Maybe TPTB were thinking they could do Castle...somewhere else? in NYC with Esposito and Kevin ... which would be weird. Although I would be fine with Jon Heurtas and Seamus Dever doing another show together or having their own spin off of Castle where they ...do stuff...I don't care what at this point, just bicker and solve crimes and interact.
Yeah definitely relief. When after last episode they said something on the lines of "tune in next week for season finale" my instant reaction was "There will be another season?" So yeah, enough is enough. Time for everyone in the show to to do something else. I would watch the Alexis & Hayley show though as a spinoff.

I'm feeling some of that, too.

Right? If they wanted salvage something of the show, this is certainly the best option.
You can tell from the finale how they were going to play it if it was coming back. I'm glad they didn't go that route.

I think when you're an actor and have what you think is a good thing going, you don't want to let that go even when it's the right thing to do.
They filmed two endings for Castle.
I didn't watch, I'll watch the last 4 or so I have on the TiVo this weekend. Nathan was doing a watch and post on Twitter last night.
