So, Bedelia actually full-on murdered the patient who has been represented as having attacked her up until this point. Hannibal's hold over her seems to be that he knows that and that she is slightly more drawn to him than repulsed by him. Interesting.

The smarmy guy who knew Hannibal's cover was bogus was... smarmy.

Eddie Izzard's character's situation is just so gross and, I mean, it's funny right? Dark funny is one of the show's many facets. And stunning visuals. I shouldn't be concerned about myself... overly? He kept going back to wondering how Hannibal would feel as it was happening to him. Hmmm.

Good gravy, Gillian Anderson is just so stunning (there's that word again).

I thought it was a smooth, fairly subtle opening. I will enjoy seeing what happened to last year's team... looks like we'll get some of that next week.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I love the non-linear story telling, but I'm uncertain about when the b&w Izzard scenes take place. I think those are in the basement of Hannibal's old house and therefore during last season's time line. Right?

Bedelia is both darker than we realized and in waaaaay over her head. "What have you gotten yourself into, Bedelia?" Indeed.

The smarmy guy who knew Hannibal's cover was bogus was... smarmy.

I wonder what he thought he was going to get out of the situation.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I think it was an extended scene from last season from when Hannibal killed him. It also may have been taking place in Hannibal's head.

Yeah, the Eddie Izzard scenes expand on what we saw last year. Unclear how long he kept him alive, right? I wonder whether we'll get more of those. I do enjoy them.

I wonder what he thought he was going to get out of the situation.

Me, too. I did think, "This is not the threesome you're looking for," during the dinner scene.

Bedelia is both darker than we realized and in waaaaay over her head.

Yes! I was thinking we'd find out she was with him under duress, but no. Though, certainly conflicted.

I think Bryan Fuller is going to take any opportunity he can to use Eddie Izzard, as it should be.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he had her at least slightly sedated, and I think that market she keeps visiting is going to become relevant.

Art Crawl!!!

Well, there is the way she was deliberately showing herself on the security cameras that suggest she is looking for help if some kind.

Hannibal did seem amused by the question though.

Not that kind of party.

I loved the premier. I don't know how they managed to up the ante on the art direction, but they DID.

Do you think Bedelia will start sneaking garlic on the side, just to mess with her flavor?

Or a long acting toxin.
