Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I caught a whiff that someone was dying in the finale, and wondered if it wasn't going to be Viola Davis, so she can get back to other work!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I can kinda see her wanting to do that, but the show would be so much less worth watching without her. I hope she's enjoying herself - Annalise seems like an interesting character to play.

Cicely Tyson, man.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm watching the premiere of S2 of Broadchurch, and I don't understand how the family has any influence on who is prosecuting the case.

I think that there's a right of private prosecution in the UK. I don't recall exactly how it works, but I think that a private individual can hire someone to pursue a criminal case against an alleged offender. And/or the government can appoint or hire a private attorney to pursue a case on behalf of the government, kind of like the court can appoint an attorney to represent an indigent client.

Caught up on Justified through and including ""Dark As a Dungeon". Seems like Katherine was wondering the same thing as I was - if Duffy was the snitch. Not really satisfying if Duffy, Katherine or Markham are the snitch. Hard to think of alternatives though. It having been Grady (Katherine's husband) would be a twist, but hard to er justify. Or maybe the attorney general got it all through wiretaps, and spread the word that there was a snitch to stir dissension and keep the gang from continuing - in which case he certainly succeeded, though his own life was collateral damage. Leaves how Grady died dangling, but that could be worked in. Anyway, I'm curious to see where they go with that. Or maybe the season finale ends without us ever learning who the snitch is. After the season end bloodbath, probably all candidates for snitch will be dead or imprisoned, in any case.

Thanks, Vortex. I guess I haven't watched enough UK procedurals.

Eh, I'm an anglophile and a lawyer, I'm picky about the details :)

Always Anti-fascist!

Sometimes law enforcement tries to convince everyone that someone else flipped, although not usually on such sophisticated criminals--honestly, I'm not sure about Justified now.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Completely random thought re: Sherlock BBC:

The reason he doesn't eat on cases is because having to poop would take time away from investigating and chasing criminals. What a drag to have to find a loo in the midst of pursuit.

Also, is anyone else excited about the Christmas special where they go period piece? I know I am (yes, I do wish for another RDJ/JL movie, god help me).

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the Christmas special. Also I'd love a new RDJ/JL movie. Just kiss already, boys.
