This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

One thing about elementary. The acting has always been amazing. But beyond hiring good actors, I think the particular director/showrunner is getting the best out of the actors. I've never seen Lucy L give less than an excellent performance, but in Elementary she is at the top of her game. And I think that applies to the other actors as well.

BTW, there is no stature of limitation in NY on kidnapping if it has acertain ggrevating circumstances. IAmnal but I think mutiliation would be included in those circumstance. so I think Kitty will have to have a new identity or stay outside extradition range for the rest of her life.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I don't know why JLM isn't getting all the awards.

I suspect it goes unnoticed because it's pretty subtle and nuanced and people don't realize that he's acting up a damn storm.

They have the best run sets I've ever been on. By far. If the masses of peons are being treated this well, I feel safe in assuming that the principles and guest actors are getting everything they could possibly need in a timely fashion and whatever else they could require (privacy, feedback, room to experiment, etc.) in order to do their best work.

I never had much impression of Lucy Lu's acting before this show. I'd have said she was fine to pretty good if asked and wouldn't have thought about it if not. I feel like in the course of the show she's upped her game considerably.

Her directing is really tight too. That wasn't only my impression, several PAs were saying they enjoyed Lucy eps and that lots of actor/directors go nuts with a million takes.

Now that I've digested a little bit, specific things I liked about this episode:

  • The moral ambiguity was actually ambiguous. I'm not sure how i feel about Kitty's choices and I also feel like the characters had not made up their minds and the show did not have a POV for me to agree or disagree with
  • When Sherlock says he is your friend, it plausibly means a lot
  • Joan's coat

All is well that ends in pizza.

I think Captain Gregson may have it investigated, but remain inconclusive.

But if she would have tried to come back in any capacity in NYC, he would have to have her arrested.

Woo hoo! Two days on SVU!

I'm a juror so this time we might just see my entire face! And more than once!

They also have a reputation for running a really good set so I'm interested to see how that goes.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

It IS a really good set. And yesterday was a really long day. I'm going back tomorrow for more.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So this guy watched episodes of The Mentalist, Criminal Minds, and Stalker simultaneously: [link]

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I keep having procedurals related dreams. Last week, it was a Mentalist one with lots of shooting. Two days in a row of Person of Interest - first one was lots of changing into different disguises with Reese, and yesterday was more of a shoot-em-up. This morning? A Castle reboot with Will Smith playing Richard Castle. I didn't recognize the actress playing Beckett, but they had been together long enough to have a small child together. Also, Beckett and Castle almost drowned, but they managed to crawl up onto a pier, Beckett pulling Castle further out of the water. Pretty exciting. Wonder if I'm going to get an Elementary dream soon.
