Monday Night Football is on ESPN now.
A local team playing Monday Night Football would probably be broadcast on the local station. (That happens here with the Bengals.) sj, are the Patriots playing tonight? If so, that's got to be the explanation.

The Patriots are playing Kansas City tonight, so those markets will be potentially affected.
When that happens to me, I usually get the regular prime time stuff shown late at night.
Oh yeah, it IS Patriots at Chiefs.
Yup, it's the Patriots. I'll watch on demand tomorrow.
I just heard them say it will be on MeTV tonight, but I forget if that's 38 or 56 or what.
I love MeTV's Saturday night block -- Batman, Wonder Woman, Star Trek, and then old horror movies with Svengoolie offering commentary on the movies at the commercial breaks.
(Yes, we are 84 years old and watch old TV on Saturday nights sometimes. Okay, many of the times. SHUT UP.)
I think I dropped Bones in the middle of a cliffhanger a couple of seasons ago. Yet somehow I caught word of a meta reason for that character death. He's going off to direct a movie or something.
This Castle opener felt similar to the S4 opener in tone. Whatever this arc is, it may span the season.
That Castle episode really annoyed me. The fact that everyone was so convinced that there was no other explanation than him faking his kidnapping felt like really heavy-handed false drama.
I did expect the smug FBI guy to be in on it.
Hated it too. Also I hated that at the end, Castle who has been kidnapped, drugged is less traumatized than Beckett. It is not as though not remembering the time he was away meant it had no effect on him. Also it plays with the whole chemistry that made the show watchable. Castle proved in the long run tougher than Beckett initially gave him credit for, but it was also never in doubt that she was the tougher of the two. They have been undermining that in the last few seasons, but this ep through it out the freakin window. It may have been justified by the plot, but it was not earned - if that distinction makes sense.
