How Holy Shit was that opening scene? Damn. I thought they were going to play it as the kind of thing going on in Hannibal's head so the "12 weeks earlier" drew an audible gasp from me.

Seven seasons and a movie, she said hopefully? My more grimly realistic guess would be somewhere into this season's endgame, 2-3 episodes from the finale.

The whole thing looked so gorgeously painterly. Will's dreams of himself at a densely laden dinner table with the antlered demon brooding silently at the other head of the table? Like one of those Renaissance still lifes rich with flowers and produce and game (the ones where when you get up close you see the decay and the bugs already at work on it all), lit like Vermeer or El Greco.
