Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

Was that in the last Castle? (Last week). I don't remember it.

All is well that ends in pizza.

No I was just riffing on the comments.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Weird. My DVR said it was a new Castle tonight, but it was a rerun. Can't tell from the episode description why they would have pulled the ep that was supposed to air.

Also, nobody saw Sherlock last night? That was SO much fun, and I love Mary and how she interacts with the boys.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I was quite worried about Mary, as a character. I was less worried when I found out Amanda was playing her. I liked her in Empty Hearse, but I love her relationships with both of them in So3.

I will need to get the soundtrack. I have sheet music for the waltz, but I don't have it in my ear well enough (the curse of Suzuki).

I think having the three writers divide up the sections of the episode worked really well.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

LOVED the ep, love Mary--she's smart! And fun. And brave and game. And I loved the bit in the aftershow when Martin Freeman talked about how nice it was having his "Missus" be there as part of the show.

The intertwining mysteries/speech/wedding planning was a totally delicious mix.

I loved her double-thumbs up to Sherlock and John when she talked each of them into getting the other out on a case.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I love how this Mary is as carefully woven into this update as both Sherlock and John are - she seems to fit quite well Conan Doyle's Mary Morstan in the Sign of Four as Holmes' described her: someone who has a "decided genius" for his work, whom he regretted had chosen to marry rather than work with him.
