That's disturbing. You're emotionally scarred and will end up badly.

Well yes, after I saw that Macro he will always be a House Elf to me. But even a free House Elf has to choose between having people put up with his bullshit in return for his help and feeling grateful for his help. Even magic can't get him both.

I made that Macro, he said proudly.

And yes, Patrick is often insufferable. Frequently.

Wow, I loved it. Don't know how I missed that you were the author. All props to you.

Yeah, I think at its best Mentalist is a comedy much more than a procedural. A lot of the pleasure is seeing a charming asshole get away with stuff that is hilarious with a glass screen between you and him, but would godawful in real life.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

To change the subject completely, has anyone seen "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries"? set in Australia in the 1920s - the plots are so-so, but the characters are fun. And the clothes are DIVINE.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I have not seen "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries" but I will keep my eyes open. It sounds fun.

Half the fun of The Mentalist being so insufferable, is that I'm not the one suffering. But I have to say it might be fun to see someone with my sort of behavior management skills bring their A game and take him on.

Thrive to spite them

I've seen the whole first series via something on the Roku. They are a lot of fun and are based on a series of books.

The books are slim and quick reads but the TV series made some changes to characters and also made changes to the plots and stuff (some of them drastic like mixing parts of 2 books into 1 episode, or moving a subplot from one story to another and creating other stuff up completely). I want get into more detail than that.

The actress who plays Phryne does a really good job with making the character sparkle.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

has anyone seen "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries"?

I have, via Netflix, and I've read the books they're based on. I've been enjoying both. The production values in the show are nice, and the lead actress is good. Also, I want her hair cut. (There are a couple more months of growing out my pixie cut before that's an option.) I understand there's a second season in the works, which makes me happy.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I LOVED Miss Fisher! I watched on Netflix, and I pretty much mainlined it in 2 days, and then I was disappointed there was no more. I think I heard Season 2 was already underway in Australia, so I hope we can get them soon.
