So, I caught up with the Venture Brothers. I agree with Corwood - I have no idea what this show is anymore (besides convoluted, weird and oddly compelling). There are moments of humor (sometimes LOL-worthy), but I can't remotely call it a comedy anymore. I think it's some kind of work of genius - I mean the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen parody with Samuel Clemens and Oscar Wilde? Brilliant! - but I'm not sure it even belongs with the other Adult Swim shows at this point.

I thought the Lepidopterists episode was funny, but otherwise it's been low on laughs. I did enjoy the last episode though.
What I've found odd is how many episodes this season have focused on flashbacks.

Maybe they are gearing up for a big Watchmen tribute.

Ooh I just got all tingly.
So who killed Dr. Venture? The episode seemed to imply that it was his not-actually-mute bodyguard, but it also hinted that maybe it was Rusty himself?
I thought that it was the bodyguard, since he felt all guilty.
Yeah I assumed it was Kato.
This Bob Saget thing is the first celebrity roast I've watched, as others I've seen advertised previously lacked someone as hot as John Stamos filling in the hosting duties. But are they always this unfunny? Cloris Leachman is the only roaster that's consistently had good jokes so far.
I thought the William Shatner roast was highlarious. Pam Anderson was mostly funny because of how out of control Courtney Love was. Bob Saget hasn't aired yet in my region so I can't tell you if it's just that I like roasts. I'm sure the uncensored version will be funnier.
