Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I didn't want to say to anyone local, but I would have been equally happy either way.

Punishingly Intricate

Manny Jacinto looks really, really good in a suit.

He really did. Wowzers!

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

So, today in a class on atomic theory, I mentioned that 2400 years ago Democritus got about 95% of atomic theory correct just by thinking about it, and likened it to Doug Forcett getting most of what happens in the afterlife correct on The Good Place. A lot of students got the reference.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

And no doubt you instantly became their favorite professor! (If you weren't already.)

Until the first exam anyway.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's excellent.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Give a little Ted Dansonstyle malicious chuckle when you hand it out to them!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Give a little Ted Dansonstyle malicious chuckle when you hand it out to them!

I'm afraid that chuckle is beyond the range of mere mortals.

My favorite joke last night was theone about The New Yorker. I was a subscriber at some point when I was in college, figuring it would up my intellectual game or something. After a year all I'd accomplished was to pile up a stack of mostly unread issues along with a bunch of unopened renewal notices.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I still subscribe, and I mostly read them when they come in (even if it's just one story per issue), but the giant stack of New Yorkers as human torture? TRUTH.
