Honestly, I think I started to warm up to Samberg when I learned that he married Joanna Newsom - she seemed way too cool to have settled with just anybody.
I also remember being really annoyed at hints at Jake/Amy early season 1, and now I think they are one of the cutest couples on TV.
His relationship (including the actual pre-relationship friendship) with Amy really showed Jake's growth as a character.
"eh, Samberg, I don't know" (I didn't hate him, but he was not my cup of tea)
Yeah, this was me too.
So, we just watched the first episode of B99's 5th season and can I just say that Tim Meadows is a goddamn treasure. His horrifying cannibal stuff was simultaneously awful and hilarious. And then I would feel awful about laughing, but I would do it again immediately because Tim Meadows.
Oh, Jesus, I could NOT stop laughing at Tim Meadows, and then I felt terrible for laughing at cannibal jokes and then I just kept laughing. I had to pause the show to tell Tim how terrible I felt for laughing at cannibal jokes, but they were so damn funny.
Also, Holt saying YAS QUEEN with a finger snap is all I've ever wanted and more.
That was PURE GOLD. Holy crap.
99!
The 99th episode was amazing!
Right? Take my picture with it.
Rosa coming out as bi to Charles was handled perfectly I thought. They came a long way from Charles creeping on Rosa in S1 (I love that they took the constructive feedback on the skeeviness of that dynamic and backed the hell off).
I'm not quite caught up (we just watched the S5 Halloween episode) (no, wait, the one after that, with the Best Man cold open), but are you serious that Rosa came out as bisexual??? That's fantastic!
It was really well done - low-key as befitting Rosa, not dramatic but sincerely felt. And Charles being both supportive, and... well, Charles.
Stephanie Beatriz came out as bi earlier this year, so I'm sure there have been long conversations between the actress and the show-runners in how to do it sensitively while keeping her in character.
