Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Jesus, all the bad reviews of Dads don't do it justice. I love Martin Mull & Peter Riegert (I just rewatched Local Hero), and I'm watching their careers go down the toilet right now.

Oh, dear. I'll watch tonight (or I'll record tonight and watch some time or other, probably) but I'm braced for suckage.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I set my DVR for Brooklyn 99, but just from the previews I didn't bother with Dads. Thanks for confirming my choices, Tom.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine was awesome! Oh, Andre Braugher. I missed hearing your voice on my TV. Usually, Andy Samberg gives me the swarmy vibes, but I found him quite charming here. Fun ensemble, too. I laughed quite a bit.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Really? I really dislike him, I didn't think even Andre Braugher could redeem him.

Yeah, I was surprised, too. I guess he could still be a deal breaker if your dislike of him goes past a certain threshold. But while he's the lead, the show is very much an ensemble act. I found the entire cast quite enjoyable.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Clearly those four leads are talented people. What did they all do wrong to explain Dads? Like, why didn't a script that awful get made with worse actors? I don't see them getting into any grooves if the material stays this charming, and no one is elevating shit.

I mean, pot brownies episode 2?

Maybe it's some kind of calculated shot at lowest common denominator? Somebody thinking that if crap is popular maybe making a particularly crappy sitcom will be a winner?

Kinda hurts to watch, whatever the root cause.

Brooklyn 99, otoh, is working for me. Granted, getting to see Andre Braugher play a cop again goes a long way, but the rest of it could have ruined that and didn't, so, yay.

I liked Brooklyn Nine-Nine, too.
