Punishingly Intricate

I KNOW!

(my response to everything everyone has said here about Community)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Dan Harmon even refers to that episode as "Chloroform."

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I also love how automatically they joined the poplockathon, with no discussion, and there was no time spent planning anything--no rehearsals, no procuring of costume, nothing. They just showed up in their shiny jackets and performed casually coordinated numbers.

And now -- The Puppet.

Geez, now I'm going to pack Season 1 of Community when I head to Vegas in a few hours in hopes of converting my fiance's family! (So far, I've shown them the beauty of Better off Ted and The IT Crowd).

Oh, and I got a smartphone for my birthday and my new ringtone is the Parks and Rec theme song! (I'm having waaay to much fun with ringtones and notification sounds!)

Thrive to spite them

I was hesitant about Community because I really didn't like Jeff in the pilot and almost turned it off about half way through he was just so smarmy and unappealing. But I stuck through and now I think it's brilliant.

I watched teh first 4 episodes and then Will came over and so I watched them again with him. The little end bits are the best.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

askye, I had the same reaction + was bored at the pilot. That's why i gave the show up. Then I saw paintball and got sucked right in.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, I was meh on the pilot and decided not to keep watching the first time. I had thought that I watched a couple more episodes that first season, but when I watched the DVDs I didn't remember anything so I guess not.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I hadn't watched any of it, but kept seeing it being mentioned flatteringly. My only sitcom was Raising Hope, though, and I was pretty content with that. Then the # of mentions on IO9 of geek-friendly content became too much, and by the time they revealed the Firefly death pact, I just had to go look. I was home sick for a day, mainlined season 1, and now I'm a raging raving born-again Community fan, probably one of the worst kinds.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I have to admit, the Chase factor kept me away, and probably would have kept doing so, if people here hadn't been talking about it.

I find I like Chevy Chase even less after becoming a Community fan¹, but I can handle Pierce appropriately. I don't find him a Rygel (which I never quite forgave Farscape for), because even though he's despicable, it does seem to be clear why he's a regular. I do miss Chang a bit, since they toned him down this season. That's the kind of nasty I'm wholeheartedly behind.

¹: I skip the commentaries he's on, and I don't watch much cast stuff that he appears in. He just spoils it for me.
