So, now that the regular seasons are over. What were the funniest single episodes of shows you watched this year?
I'd have to pick two Archer eps, "The Double Deuce" (the flashback episode for Woodhouse involving H. Jon Benjamin's immortal line reading: "That's a lot of scalps!") and "Stage Two" (Chemo rampage!) and also the season ender for Raising Hope "Don't Vote For This Episode" (another flashback including Drakkar Noir).
So what did I miss on Community, 30 Rock and elsewhere?
Dwight's snowmen on The Office.
I really liked the Raising Hope episode with hide-and-seek and brother husbands. Booyah! Community was not quite as awesome for me this season as it has been; I was watching it somewhat haphazardly, which didn't help.
I thought the Simpsons was particularly strong this year. There was one episode, 500 Keys, where the A and B plots came together in a way that left me gasping for air.
My picks would be the Jenga and trpped-in-the-attic episodes of Raising Hope, "Mein Coming Out" from Happy Endings, and "Blame It on the Alcohol" from Glee.
We forgot Bob's Burgers. Moolissa.
Or Voodoo.
Are there no Veridian Dynamics ads in the second season? Noooooo.
I thought the same thing, P-C, but there is one in the second episode. It definitely seems like they cut down on them, though.
Yes, I just started watching the second season on Netflix.
I just watched the first six episodes of
Community,
and, as I had been told, it's fucking hilarious. The Spanish Disco Spider rap was one of the greatest things I've ever seen. We nearly died laughing.
Most of the characters feel more like gimmicks than characters, but I imagine that will change over time (the episode with Abed's dad was surprisingly effective, for instance). I'm already kind of tired of Jeff/Britta, but I am rooting for Troy/Annie!
I was late coming to the Community party too! My boyfriend and I just finished up season one (and I've seen bits and pieces of season 2).
The other day we were discussing how much French and Spanish we remember from high school (I took French, he took Spanish). I spouted off a bit of French and then turned to him and asked how much he remembered. He immediately started doing the Spanish Community rap. I couldn't have loved him more at that moment!
