I don't even remember the set-up but one of my favorite TV moments ever involved Frasier walking in dressed in a Jesus constume and Niles shouting "Jesus!"

They made NBC kings of Thursday nights.
But I don't think they used the slogan "Must See TV" then.
That is such a great episode, Stephanie.
"Tone it down, there, Tevye."
the only reason i ever watched Frasier was for Niles (Frasier himself annoyed the #$$%^ out of me unless he was bantering with his brother or dad).
I have hazy memories of a sitcom featuring Niles, his anorexic red-headed wife (played by the actress who was also Eve on Northern Exposure) and her parents. Her dad was a congressman or some kind of politico. It was funny, but i only saw a couple of episodes in my great-aunts basement and never heard of it again. Pretty sure i wasn't hallucinating. I suspect that show didn't go far.
Niles was great, as was John Mahoney. When KG was on, he was very good, but he could be overbearing. That fit the character, but doesn't make it any less annoying. I also loved it whenever Lilith showed up, but I loves me some Bebe.
My favorite Frasier moment was when he recited Klingon at his son's bar mitzvah.
And David Hyde Pierce has excellent comedic timing.

- now* I kind of remember it...luckily it was not D H-P's "Viking Quest" or anything, though.

Yes!!!!! That is so it. Ok, not actually a spin off, but it is the actors who play Niles and Maris playing a different unhappily married couple. What are the chances of two unrelated sitcom pairings?
eta: boo on my library for not having it. tho in their defense, it might not even be released on DVD.
