Glee is still on the Tivo, so I can't comment. (Though if they're going to redeem Karofsky, I hope he at least earns it instead of suddenly getting better.)

The Office -- Fell kind of flat, though it was nice to see Holly outperform Dwight in something he takes pride in. But it seemed kind of a roundabout (even if very Office-like) way to get Holly and Michael together. And the captions attacking Gabe seemed kind of forced.

I know...they've been doing that lately. Is there anyone watching who will be surprised if that happens? Maybe some coma patient who's just started watching TV after twenty years? And is there anybody who really cares about Erin? Much less if she dates Andy or um, Sabre Guy(whom I obviously don't care about either) but really...that character could totally have gotten hit by a bus in the last episode and I would just rub my chin and say "Interesting choice," The actress is cute, but the character is just kind of a grinning idiot.

I love her and Michael's relationship and think they are adorable together. The actress is also a member of the same improv theater as my sister.

I liked Michael's walkabout as a way for Holly to realize how much she has in common with him and missed him. And the captions themselves weren't great, but the glee everyone took in them was pretty funny.

I do like Erin and find myself shipping her and Andy pretty hard. Which surprises me, because I thought setting up the triangle was pretty weak, but there it is.

I've actually been happy with the last couple of episodes - the opener to last week with Brent was just perfect. I probably laugh more watching Parks and Rec and 30 Rock, but I'm still pleased with The Office.

They're a great couple, no doubt of that. I'd just like to have seen something a little less forced. Preferably involving a Big Gesture from Michael.

As for Erin, the show seems to have trouble integrating new characters -- even Andy got put on hiatus for anger management classes. Erin is right on the floor, and the secretary has always been a central character. With Gabe, though, the awkward integration works. He has an awkward personal style. He isn't part of the workaday routine. And what does he do around there, anyway?

Maybe it's time for Jo to visit Scranton again.

has it been a while since you've heard the original Thriller, Matt? Vincent Price's part is far from high-pitched or nasal.

It's been a while, but the version in my head, though raspy, does "sound" high pitched. (Though I guess anyone but Barry White would sound high-pitched in comparison to the vocal they used.)

Saw Glee last night, only one day late. A few observations:

If you're trying to prove to the football team that glee club is "cool," you could have Artie cover Kanye West or Jay-Z. Or maybe Puck cover Vampire Weekend. Covering Lady Antebellum, not so much.

Coach Bieste could have ponited out that dance can help athletes with mobility. Point missed.

Blaine has more soul than I expected. However, not nearly as much as Beyonce.

The "Thriller/Heads Will Roll" mash-up was probably impressive. Unfortunately, either it was poorly photographed, or the film was poorly edited. And I agree, that wasn't Finn's voice in the Vincent Price role.

"She's Not There" is not a classic. However, points for using a Zombies song that not everyone already knows.

"Braaaaains!" Magical. Just magical.

The Cheerios story line really highlighted the difference between Sue/the cheerleading team and Will/the glee club. One is cutthroat and very successful. The other is competitive, family-like in its supportiveness, and relatively successful for how new it is.

So much discussion of the high school social pecking order. When forced to make a choice, the three members of both cheerleading and glee club picked the lower-rated glee club.

Karofsky doesn't seem redemption-bound -- at most, there's a little foreshadowing of how it might happen. He only joined the halftime show when he saw how well it was received. So it was a semi (or more)-cynical ploy for popularity as opposed to helping out the team. As borne out by his last comment to Finn about not wanting to change things because he's on top of the social heap. (Although, after Finn's "I never see you with a girlfriend" remark, Karofsky should realize that his secret could come out, and his place in the McKinley world would likely change if it does.) I still predict things won't end well.

I think I missed the last couple of minutes of the episode. Was there anything after the half-time show?
