I'm not surprised at all. I think I may have seen every Robert Klein HBO special ever - I've always kept an eye out for them. I KNOW I saw the very first one completely by accident. I love his shit.

Somebody REALLY needs to do an "I can't stop my leg" compilation.

I mean SERIOUSLY - I cackled with glee at the reference because it was so obscure.

ETA he has done some version of that at the end of every single HBO special he's done, and he's done a lot of them.

That was a helluva well-constructed joke, with the set-up to expect "Thumper" and the follow-up "that's funnier/you can have it".

I am REALLY out of the comedy loop, because not only do I not get it, I know Robert Klein from Sisters.
