I thought the whole joke was based on the fact that the rabbit's leg kept moving.
Didn't see Archer, but is it a reference to this?
Okay, yep, that's even funnier and more obscure.

I mean SERIOUSLY - I cackled with glee at the reference because it was so obscure.
ETA he has done some version of that at the end of every single HBO special he's done, and he's done a lot of them.
I admit, I had to google.
That was a helluva well-constructed joke, with the set-up to expect "Thumper" and the follow-up "that's funnier/you can have it".
thank-you! D & I went around and around on that one. I'm all, "I know who Robert Klein is but why is it funny?"
I am REALLY out of the comedy loop, because not only do I not get it, I know Robert Klein from Sisters.

Well, especially since that SNL clip Tom linked to is from the 70s. Wasn't Klein THE first host of SNL back in the day?
ETA no Carlin was the first SNL host, but Klein did host twice in the 70s. He did have the first HBO comedy special ever though, which is where I first saw him. Yikes! I feel really old now.
Is it just me, or does the zombie makeup Corey Monteith is wearing look disturbingly like the blackface C. Thomas Howell wore in Soul Man?
They're going to fucking redeem Karovsky, or whatever his name is. I am irked.
