"It's a fascinating position these showrunners are put into," another studio exec said. "From a pure economics standpoint, if they can provide extra scripts, that's extra fees for a lot of people who need the money. On the other hand, the more episodes we have, supposedly the less pressure there will be on us. But I would think if I were a writer, I'd get as many scripts into shooting position as possible."
I'm sure you would, Mr. Studio Exec. You know, if you were a writer @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Daniels Pickets ‘Office’ Production:
“We’re trying to shut down ‘The Office,’” Mr. Daniels said. “We have the star of our show and the entire writing staff behind us.”
A bold move!
Mr. Daniels said there’s only one unproduced “Office” script that’s ready to go, but it’s a good one.
“Last week we had our best table reading of the entire run of the show, and that’s what we were going to shoot this week,” he said.
The best ever? Really? Whaaaat a coincidence!
Wrong season but I can never resist the urge to shout
As God is my witness I thought turkeys could fly!
I was wrong, it is season 1! (episode 7)
Shawn Ryan says the
Shield
series finale that he won't be able to work on is the best script the writers have ever produced. I find it highly suspect that the BEST STUFF IN THE WORLD is happening riiiiight before the strike. Hee.
aren't season finales in the spring? They really think this won't be resolved in time?
The Shield
is on FX, Laga, and I think they shoot their entire season before airing. I don't know when the last season airs.
As for not being resolved in time, I think the last strike lasted five months. Five months from now is the end of March, and that would definitely affect all season finales.
Yeah, if this strike lasts more than a few months, they won't have season finales for many shows. Or they'll be musical finales.
