“Not dead yet!”

Interesting column on Salon about what's good and bad with Glee.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Finally got to see the last half of Glee over the weekend. Add me to the list of those left breathless by Kurt's rendition of "I Want to Hold Your Hand." I didn't think it was still possible to reimagine a Beatles song so completely, especially one so well known.

“Not dead yet!”

They actually borrowed that reimagining from the film, Across the Universe, which in and of itself, does a masterful job of crafting Beatles songs in unique ways. I was thrilled when I heard it, since I ADORE that soundtrack.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That was my favorite Glee of the season.

JZ commented (and I thought also) that they seemed to address some of the critiques the show has experienced, and backed off the uberselfishness of Rachel, and some of Curt's issues with Finn.

“Not dead yet!”

I think this was the first episode this season so far that found songs that worked with the storyline, rather than attempting to shoehorn a story around songs.

I also loved how they addressed some of the hanging threads from last year with Finn & Kurt and I really liked how they had Rachel being selfless & selfish at the same time, which was a good balance that they managed most of last year.

Also, while I rolled my eyes at the "Let's costume Lea Michelle just like Barbra," I could absolutely listen to Lea and Chris Colfer sing Broadway all day long. That duet was gorgeous.
