"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Ha! Allow me to introduce you to my friend Bob sometime. Not quite as bad, but close, complete with kind streak he'd prefer no one know about.

Thrive to spite them

I have a co worker who says the same thing about how he can't really get into the character of Barney because NPH is gay.

I asked him if had a hard time believing any other actor on the show, or any other show or movie since it's freaking ACTING.

He didn't seem to have a hard time believing Sigourney Weaver in a space movie or a bunch of people acting as CGI blue creatures.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, I have a hard time believing Alyson Hannigan is into Jason Segal, because I know she's happily married!

Wait -- no I don't.

I don't have any trouble buying NPH playing straight characters, although there are some actors for whom that issue crops up. Including Ty Burrell, who I'm fairly certain is straight and married in real life but couldn't sell me on the heterosexuality of any of his characters if his life depended on it.

I can't see Sean Hayes playing a straight guy, but I'm willing to give it a shot. I mean, I've never seen him play a straight character, so I really don't have a frame of reference for it.

In a vacuum I'm sure he could do it in terms of portraying a believable character, but it would take a lobotomy to make me forget 8 years of shrieking gay minstrel show work on his part.

Did anyone else tune in last night to see the Betty White SNL? I can't remember when I last laughed that hard.

I haven't watched an entire episode of SNL in forever, so I can't say that it was the best episdode in years, but it was pretty damn funny. Much funnier than I remember SNL being.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I'm one-degree removed from Sean Hayes and I'm told jack is pretty much Sean. But just because he played himself on TV doesn't mean he can't play straight in the theatre.

Ahhh, man! Emmett and I were just lamenting that we didn't save them on the Tivo. Tactical error.
