I saw a photo from Spring Awakening and realised that the actor who plays that icky Jessie guy was the male lead opposite Lea Michelle in the play, and now i guess i understand why he's on the show. before that recognition, i just wasn't getting it: he's not all that amazing looking and not fantastic enough of a singer to ping as so desirable. Knowing that the actors have history helps me understanding the casting a bit...tho I still think he's squicky. In a bad way. I guess we're supposed to, tho. I loved Sue Sylvester....dance on air so very very much.

I LOVE the way Jesse St. James is being played. He's so deliciously over-the-top, and I've always thought this show was the best when it erred on the side of the ridiculous. The more it gets like the first season of Popular only with singing, the more I love it.
He had some amazing lines, too. "Come on out so we can talk, or at least sing about it." and "Finn, I know we're headed for a big showdown, so let's pick the arena now. Sing-off, 5 p.m, parking lot." I laughed and laughed. Though Kurt saying "She's black. I'm gay. We MAKE culture." was even better.
I'm just sad we didn't get to see a sing-off.
I liked the line about meeting in the Stephen Sondheim biography section, because only Sondheim can express his melancholia.
Yeah, that was good. It was a very good episode.
Joss' episode is Mid-May. I only hope that AI doesn't run over and screw it up!

I also loved Rachel's whimpered "No!"
I'm just sad we didn't get to see a sing-off.
Oh, I think that we will.

That cracked me up.
Me, too. And then I laughed a little bit more listening to the Stephen Sondheim interview on Fresh Air yesterday and wishing the ep had aired before the interview. Anyone else hear it? Stevie slapped Terry a couple of times on incorrect music jargon.
