I LOVE the way Jesse St. James is being played. He's so deliciously over-the-top, and I've always thought this show was the best when it erred on the side of the ridiculous. The more it gets like the first season of

only with singing, the more I love it.
He had some amazing lines, too. "Come on out so we can talk, or at least sing about it." and "Finn, I know we're headed for a big showdown, so let's pick the arena now. Sing-off, 5 p.m, parking lot." I laughed and laughed. Though Kurt saying "She's black. I'm gay. We MAKE culture." was even better.
I'm just sad we didn't get to see a sing-off.
I liked the line about meeting in the Stephen Sondheim biography section, because only Sondheim can express his melancholia.

"Finn, I know we're headed for a big showdown, so let's pick the arena now. Sing-off, 5 p.m, parking lot."
I also loved Rachel's whimpered "No!"
I'm just sad we didn't get to see a sing-off.
Oh, I think that we will.
Me, too. And then I laughed a little bit more listening to the Stephen Sondheim interview on Fresh Air yesterday and wishing the ep had aired before the interview. Anyone else hear it? Stevie slapped Terry a couple of times on incorrect music jargon.
Mr Sondheim sounds wonderfully lively. I still adore him and his work. (i only heard part of the interview, shall have to go listen to the full podcast when i get home)
