No. We think she introduces Ted to Your Mother.

That makes so much more sense!
Oh, yeah! I was kind of ignoring that part because I didn't like it.
EtAsk: People with better memories than me: what is the deal with the yellow umbrella? It's got some kind of significance but I can't remember what.
The one time we "saw" the mother she had a yellow umbrella.
Oh, I forgot that -- I thought it was Ted's yellow umbrella all along.
RIP Dom DeLuise
Thanks, sj. Now I am confused by Ted carrying a yellow umbrella last night. Wait, is that the one he got after that St. Pat's day when he was being all jerky?
And this visual I have of an open yellow umbrella tumbling down an empty street, is that HIMYM?
Yes, -t. The Mother was at the same club on St. Patrick's Day, but they never met. Ted lost his phone that night. He went back to the club the next day to get it, but couldn't find it. While he was there, it started pouring out. Someone else (the mother) had left behind the yellow umbrella so he took it.
So kids, if I weren't an accomplished thief, I never would have met your mother.
Thanks, Cindy. I actually just read your recap and it was very helpful, also!
I think my favorite part of this episode though, was when Ted was going around hugging everyone, the health inspector went from arguing with the bagel guy to looking so happy to see Ted and giving a big hug and then right back to scowly arguing. That really tickled me.
I loved Marshall's charts.
