I have in the last couple of days googled images for roller skating, beads, stars and camel, and in each case got porn.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Ooo. any good sites?
Now my brain contains an image of a beaded star camel on rollerskates.
So, um, Grandpa just saw the quilts. When he first saw them, he said, kind of snottily, "That's nice." Then, my Grandma and Aunt went nuts over them for 20 minutes. As they left, Grandpa patted me on the shoulder and said, "You're an expert seamstress. Good job." It actually almost made me tear up.
vw bug, I've loved the pics of your quilts. My Aunt Evalyn made fabulous quilts as did my grandma Payne. I have my crib quilt that she made and a matching one that fits a hand-carved doll bed that my grandfather made. I have one other of hers that is completely threadbare now. I have no idea how old it is.
Is your quilting by machine or hand stitched? When I was a kid, we had my grandma's quilting frame and finished one of hers by hand. The frames are long gone now.
Yay vw! Yay Grandpa! That post made me break into spontaneous clapping.
Bobbi, that sounds amazing. What a wonderful collection you have there! Also, are you newish around here? I'm not sure I've "met" you. Hi!
Is your quilting by machine or hand stitched?
It is machine stitched. I don't have the time or patience or skill of a hand-stitch quilter. I wish I did. I've seen work by some amazing quilters...one that I know from my shop, and they are just something else.
Thanks, Laga! I was pretty pleased myself. As my SIL said, it's as close to saying, "I was wrong" as my grandpa will ever get.

Yes. I lurked intermittently for a year or more and finally registered fairly recently. Then I lurked some more before finally posting. Thanks!
And my hand stitching was truly awful. If I look at that quilt my mom, sister, and I did, I can point out my part way too easily. My sister has the skills but has, as an adult, stuck with the occasional blanket that she won't call a quilt. She did one for me and DH for our wedding gift.
Here's a picture of the quilt all tucked in and ready for my cousin to see: [link]
And here's the other quilt spread out for her to see: [link]
I wish I had pictures of her seeing them. Unfortunately, I got so excited about showing them to her that I forgot to take pictures. Oops.
I'm so pleased to read that grandpa finally sees your brilliance! Whee! I could hand stitch like mad in my youth, but no patience for that anymore.
