Ginger, my sympathies.
I have CutCo knives, and they're perfectly fine for what I need to do. I'd much rather have Wustofs (which did fit very well), but I'm not spending the money.
Ohhhh, house porn! I want to paint my apartment so much, but I probably won't.
Suzi, you should come to North Beach and drink.
It rained! I missed rain! Except now I have to worry about it rusting my bike! Augh.
I like the way the gently curved blade rocks on the cutting board.
If the blade is curved enough to rock back and forth, it's not a real santoku, it's a santoku-style chef's knife. Santoku blades are tapered, but almost entirely flat on the sharp side (like a cleaver).
Santoku.
Chef's knife.
ION, I am having a completely shitty day. If anything else goes wrong, I quit. I will retreat to my cave and come out when things stop sucking.
(I'd go into specifics, but most of them are job-related & therefore unsuitable for public posting. Suffice to say, everything can BITE ME.)
Huh. Ours are kind of a cross between the two. They're definitely more santoku shaped, but with a slight curve to the blade. Though there was less of a curve than I was remembering, I just checked. The curve is mostly toward the tip (but still there).
No shitty days for Mama Jess. I'll hurt somebody if I have to.
And yes - no more shitty days for Jess. BOO SHITTY DAYS!!
Seany - I miss you. Little Liz and I were gonna drunk dial you a few weeks back, but then I had to go sing.
I miss you too. And you totally should have called me while drunk.
Also, for the record, about half of everything S talks about these days is how to get you and Joe back to LA.
I think she misses y'all more than I do. She talks about it a LOT.
