Jayne: That's a good idea. Good idea. Tell us where the stuff's at so I can shoot you. Mal: Point of interest? Offering to shoot us might not work so well as an incentive as you might imagine.

Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

OK, more careful measuring got that my waist is somewhere in the general neighborhood of 34 inches. Which is still more than what the size chart says, but not by much, so I'll figure it's about accurate.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

#5 is alive! She's much cuter in person. It wasn't as terribly awkward as I thought it might be; we were talking the whole time (about ninety minutes; we kept talking even after the check was on the table). We mostly talked about work and the Bay Area and traveling and stuff. Regular stuff.

She was nice. I liked her. She seems like a good person.

I felt like I sucked. I felt like a big block of boring who barely said anything and when words came out they were not very interesting. But she said it was nice meeting me and that we would talk after we got back from our respective trips (amusingly, we're both going on trips tomorrow). So...I guess that's good.

I am leaving early tomorrow morning, so I probably won't see people's responses. You should include an easily searchable word like "Anansi" I can look for when I get back, in case I don't have time to lollygag about online while I'm gone.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Welcome to the Anansi tribe, Sunil! I'm glad that meeting #5 wasn't painful. And I bet the young lady in question thought you were a good listener, and enjoyed talking with you.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

we were talking the whole time

This is such a good sign.

I came in here last night looking to squee about Boondocks but I wasn't sure where to post. That was an episode worth waiting for. I think the theatre was modeled on The Grove in Los Angeles.

Anansi - Oooo that sounds promising! Good luck with setting up the 2nd date. I guess it's true... #5 IS alive!! Yipee!

ND, Kayak.com RULES! I knew it was a good thing to ask in here. :: Squee ::

I will point out that San Diego just got free wireless internet about a month ago. But that can't be close for you to leave from... Still, it's made me happy given how often I have been there recently. PDX to and from SAN just got a lot nicer for passing the time you have to spend in airports.

Alas, the laptop I have access to is works, and they don't like me to take it out of work zone, lest it get lost, stolen, broken, what not. So I'll be in an airport sans net... and vaca, sans net. O ya, I forgot to mention, my mom is coming along (it's for my bro-in-law retirement party), and mom wants to fly together. FUN! (sigh). Maybe I should get the iPhone. Can I return it in a month?

(You draw a wee star, and then note something GOOD about the work. And again. [and perhaps again and again, depending.] Then a wee magic wand, and note something that would help their next piece of work be better.)

I LOVE this approach. I’m totally stealing it.

I'm not only incapable of spelling number with the pound symbol, I can't spell okay with only two letters.

And this is why we love you!

Grammar and spelling are total dealbreakers for me. Which is why I try to meet people in person. Too few of them meet my criteria on something like Craigslist. :)

See, I try to cut some slack, because my spelling SUCKS. But, on the other hand, very few people know that my spelling sucks, because I spell check EVERYTHING (including my posts here) except IM. So, if I can figure out a way to keep people from knowing that my spelling sucks, then I figure other people should be able to figure out how to do that too. So, there.

Speaking of my father, he just called and offered to take K-Bug back east to checkout Northeastern and University of New England.

Oh, yay! K-Bug in my state!

Yay for #5, PC!

I woke up to six student papers in my e-mail box. Silly students! I hope they all get my comments before they have to turn their papers in. I almost set my alarm for midnight for that very reason, but then my sanity returned.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Good morning!

Anansi: PC, glad to hear that #5 is not a dud. I look forward to hearing about the next meeting

I almost set my alarm for midnight for that very reason, but then my sanity returned.

Good for you! Their failure to plan =/= your emergency.

Hey. New board.

Anansi Boys is a book by Neil Gaiman that talks about how it's cool that P-C's meeting didn't go too poorly. Also, about how he wasn't boring, I'm sure. Or maybe it's about something else? I forget.

Kayak.com actually figured in a dream of mine last night. Which is so weird, I'm not even going to try to explain it.

ok, how said is this. In order to survive a weekend with the family, sans computer/internet PLUS on a plane.... I'm considering buying an iPhone for net browsing, videos, music, etc. is that sad? Does an iPhone fit in the JBL On Stage dock/speakers? Or is it too wide?

If I keep thinking like this, I won't be debt free by xmas. Is there a cheaper way to do pocket internet? I'd have to do via cell phone either way, right? So if I am, might as well upgrade to iPhone that comes with data package?!?

Someone make me go to bed!

Omnis, go to bed! Think about this in the "morning."
