This is not funny. This... this is a morality tale about the evils of sake.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Someone from Facilities just arrived to move our furniture around...only he appears clueless about what exactly we want done. Which is frustrating, because it *is* fairly complicated and I spent half an hour walking this guy's supervisor through what we wanted. So I was expecting a bit more than a guy with a dolly and a blank look saying, "So you need to move some furniture?"

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

That is one of my hugest pet peeves about the chain of command. I just spent a good amount of time explaining something and you're going to pass me along to someone else so I can explain it again?

One of the things that's supposed to be moving is my computer, printer, & scanner. I *so* do not trust this guy to set them up properly.

Is there an IT department at the company, Susan? They always moved computers at companies I worked for, but I'm sure that doesn't apply across the board.

I'm going to call IT Services and see what they say. They're based at the other hospital in our system and mostly do phone support, but I know they've got at least a few techs over here full-time.

It's just making me want to scream, especially since I was already on edge to begin with. I mean, they were supposed to be bringing another table to go by my desk, since the new desk is smaller than the one I have now. I don't see any sign of that, nor of a keyboard tray to mount on the new desk. It doesn't look like he's making as much room as we discussed. I already knew it was going to be a messy, cobbled-together solution, but it's worse than I thought.

Actually, this is something I'm actually getting better at. "here, you need do this project, go talk to other department and see how they want us to do it". Saves me time from 1)listening to them 2) telling my crew and 3) getting caught in the middle.

Oh, Susan. Hang in there. This does sound so very frustrating.

Just walked Toto. My 80-year-old neighbor was out for the first time in weeks, so I went over to make sure she was ok. Turns out she's been in the hospital twice in the last couple of weeks. She's losing it, though. It's amazing how much she's degenerated in just the last 4-5 months.

Today she said to me, "So, I see that those boys that live in your building are black. Are you ok? They being nice to you, or you want me to call the police?" She's usually a little gossipy about the neighborhood, but today she was downright mean and angry, and I'm worried about her, but also her 40-year-old disabled daughter that lives with her.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Clearly I need to get more cats if I want to aspire to the "alone and eaten by cats" thing....

Maybe just one big cat.
