Ok - that was a funny crosspost. I'm now imagining Susan running into Office Depot and licking the face of the printer cartridge guy,
Hee! Does the printer cartridge guy look like Sean Bean or Nathan Fillion? 'Cuz then I might.
'Safe'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Gee Trudy, have a chip on your shoulder about private schools?
I went to mostly private schools, and have taught at more than a few, and to be honest on items like this they typically don't make these kinds of changes.
You better hope EVERYONE doesn't start asking for it...They wouldn't grant it. The only reason the admin is doing this is because of the school calendar change this year--anyone else who wanted it would be out of luck. The parent had contacted the school when the calendar change first came out, last spring, so they honestly seem to think that this is the best way to keep these girls accountable; they have to take final exams before they can go. I just think it's a dumb decision, you know? Silly admin.
I. Am. Tired.
I read and skimmed but I don't remember much except that Tep has a cool new magnet and offers very good thoughts on writing. Also, that Susan has my job issues sometimes. Do not piss off the admin bitches! I know everything that's going on and where every file is buried!
Also, how many times do I freaking have to tell my friends, "Do not date each other if you expect to bitch to me later if they screw up!" Also, do not ask my friend out and then not confirm for Saturday by Friday afternoon. She's a busy girl; she's going to make other plans, and she's going to tell me you're a dildo.
Yes it doesn't make sense to me why they couldn't take their finals when they get back from safari. Do you teachers have any say in the matter?

No, just about entitled people who throw their weight around and get accomodations. It happens in all sorts of fields.

Like I said, it DOES sound like its because of the calendar change. I just doubt they'd be as accomodating without the tuition of three students and whatever clout the parents have at play.
And the fact that the school "caused" the problem so they have to solve it -- and the easiest way to solve it is to make it YOUR problem.
I'm not saying it doesn't blow. I'm just saying that, yeah, that's how things work. And that's what the kids will learn from this.

Actually, I dealt with this type of situation just as much at public school. I hear what you're saying--money often does buy privilege--but I don't think that this particular school tends that way usually.
Went to trapeze today. Fun! Somehow, I wasn't able to do today stuff that I was able to do a few weeks ago. I think I've lost some ab strength. Lots of situps and crunches over the next few weeks, I think. (The next chance we'll have to go back will probably be in three weeks.)
Now, tired. And pretty certain that I won't be able to move my arms tomorrow.
ND - private schools are changing dramatically in their approach to parent relations. I hold this example from my new city up as exhibit A. Then I will go hide in shame that I live near this mess. If you want to see a catfight, read the board at the base of the article. eiyiyi.
eta - actually, I _don't_ live near it on purpose. Opposite side of the city. yay.
but I don't think that this particular school tends that way usually.
Thank goodness!
