Yay for Cashmere’s news! That is so exciting!
Oh, Sean, tons of ~ma headed to you and your family.
Yay for VW's research orgasm!
I misread this the first time as "Yay for VW's reaching orgasm!"
And I blinked a few times in mild surprise. (Only mild surprise, because this *is* Bitches, after all.)
Coffee! Coffee all over my monitor!
I’m just imagining myself coming in and actually sharing that I’d reached orgasm. I mean, I’m pretty open, but, um, yeah.
So, I just met with a student that I had met with earlier in the week. I had worked with her, sent her home to do some major reworking, and a few hours later she very proudly e-mailed me her new version—that had not integrated *anything* we had talked about. I was so frustrated—not with her, but with me.
I just met with her again, and it went so much better. I approached it very differently and she got it. YAY for that! Then she had a fun assignment for another class that we worked on. I can’t wait to see the next version of her paper. I’m very hopeful.
although I had a Drew and Kristin.
And....
speakers get hung all over the palm trees around Beverly Hills so that holiday music can be piped in.
Much scarier than Halloween Horror Nights.
Fred Pete, it's Steven's Point. Not sure if that's good or bad.
Other end of the state. I grew up in Beloit/Janesville, which is south of Madison. If you drive up from NC, you'll probably go through there.
It was not a good fit for someone like me. I still have issues.
I skimmed a bunch drop in and say that I'm so excited for Cash and their impending move! I hope you guys really like SP - I know I thought it was so pretty and Wisconsin-y when I was there. Plus, maybe I'll be able to visit when I'm in Minnepolis next March.
Also, I have to share that yesterday, my husband took time away from his work to take the tires for Ellie's stroller to get changed (1 was flat and the rims were rusting on the others). I usually walk on Thursdays after work, but I didn't think I'd be able to because of the flat tire. Isn't that sweet of him??
eta: Since I went to college near Chicago, Janesville was always a stop on the way home - my only memory of that place is huge truck stops.

Ah, yes! Isn't that where the Petro is? Good memories of Petro and truck drivers buying me breakfast at the diner. And telling me I needed to wear socks in the middle of winter.
I think you are right! I have that entire section of I-94 memorized from all the trips back and forth.
Val, did you live in Wisconsin/Minnesota? I don't think I knew that.
Hi, v-dub!
Er... content, right. Content. Um.
...crap, I've got nothing. Could someone fax me a life, please?

Me too! Still...10 years later, it's in there.

I lived in MN for ten years. I don't really talk about it much, but that's where I went to junior high and high school. Then, after my parents moved back to the Chicago area, I moved and went to college at Augsburg in Minneapolis. And that's when I did a lot of driving back and forth.
Hey, Em! How are things?
I wonder if it's time to pick up comics again. I should call and see...Or, I could check their website. I've gotten so crazy that I haven't been by there recently.
Also, do you like apple butter? I thought I'd throw some in from the apple orchard we went to last week.
edit: Emily, who needs content?
Crazy. A little sick. Apple butter... I don't think so. I'm not sure what you do with it, for one thing. But thank you!
Oh, sleep. How you taunt me with your taunty ways. Five more class periods to go.
