Numfar, do the Dance of Transplanty Goodness! Suzi, congratulations to your mom and her new kidney - may their partnership last many happy years.
Could not be said better. Congrats, Suzi!
'The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Oh, bloody hell Aims.
Thing 1 - doodling doesn't show inattention. It actually helps some people to focus - depends on your learning style.
Thing 2 - failure to eat icecream? ....actually, I haven't got any words for that one.
I agree that it sounds like she's a dickhead, and I'm glad he's not having to work for a dickhead - but the reality is that one would rather have the income from working for said dickhead to tide one over while seeking a better boss. I'm gutted for you both. Hang in there.

Oh hell yeah. I would be one of those people.

It's actually, also, an effective writing tool, I learned this week.
So sorry Joe and Aimee! So very frustrating!
WS and Daniel, I hope things get figured out soon.
YAY Suzi and mom!
Thing 1 - doodling doesn't show inattention. It actually helps some people to focus - depends on your learning style.
True dat. My doodling now takes the form of practising Chinese vocab. It works well; each 'doodle' is just a small self-contained lump of time, so it's not absorbing enough totake my attention away from the meeting, and it also stops my mind wandering onto a real time-waster.
I love ice cream. Beyond all reason. But if I thought it was a secret handshake, I wouldn't eat any. Cause I hate that pep-rally bullshit, and the more she needed me to do it, the less I would, too. I enjoy withholding stuff from needy people. It's a Thing. cool thing of the day: First I have one. For the first time in like, six weeks, not counting my birthday. Second, someone who read my review wants me to beta her porn ms. Which isn't exactly the rep I wanted out of journalism school, but hey, I have one. And I couldn't have done it without y'all.ETA: Poor Andrea Macris...wonder how she'd feel about being a tagline star. Or that I think of her in a Middle Eastern restaurant.
{{{WindSparrow, Daniel}}} I hope all your car troubles sort themselves out.
{{{Aimee, MM}}} I hope your job sitch sorts itself out.
YAY!!! Suzi's mom good kidney news! Hooray!
I brought all the rain to the south of France. Good for the plants, but not good for doing stuff outside. Although Tuesday was gorgeous and we went hiking with my mom's hiking group for HOURS and I got sunburned on my arms and face. Fortunately not the shingles side - I haven't had an outbreak for 2 years now and I'd like to keep it that way!
Timelies!
Skipping my Bible study this morning so I can catch up a bit from the craziness of this week. And actually have time to drink my coffee at home. The women who work at the little coffee shop on campus now laugh when I come for my third or fourth coffee of the day!
d, Minnesota is getting a lot of rain too, some serious flooding in some areas - so maybe rain is simply contagious, and someone else spread it. Hope your sunburn fades to a nice tan, without peeling and itching.
Thanks, everyone, for your encouragement. Please send us car~ma for getting better results on Saturday. I know the right vehicle is out there, we just have to find it.
Crap! Shitty news on the Bitches front (except for the EXTREMELY awesome news about Suzi's mom's improving health and happy kidney environment- that rocks!)
I'm sorry about the car stuff, Andi- I hope you guys find something soon.
Aimee and Joe- ugh! How horrible and frustrating! There is the silver lining in that he doesn't have to work with that harpie, but you can't pay bills with silver linings, so it just sucks. Here's hoping something much better comes along real fast.
ION, my condo-neighbors have finally worked out that, hey, the August fee really *hadn't* been paid, promised to leave a second check, never did, and I just got a reply from a gentle reminder email I sent them about it that indicates that they think they gave it to us already...? or something...? PEOPLE! Get it together, and stop making me hate you, because that is not good for me! (or you)
