True dat. My doodling now takes the form of practising Chinese vocab. It works well; each 'doodle' is just a small self-contained lump of time, so it's not absorbing enough totake my attention away from the meeting, and it also stops my mind wandering onto a real time-waster.

I love ice cream. Beyond all reason. But if I thought it was a secret handshake, I wouldn't eat any. Cause I hate that pep-rally bullshit, and the more she needed me to do it, the less I would, too. I enjoy withholding stuff from needy people. It's a Thing. cool thing of the day: First I have one. For the first time in like, six weeks, not counting my birthday. Second, someone who read my review wants me to beta her porn ms. Which isn't exactly the rep I wanted out of journalism school, but hey, I have one. I brought all the rain to the south of France. Good for the plants, but not good for doing stuff outside. Although Tuesday was gorgeous and we went hiking with my mom's hiking group for HOURS and I got sunburned on my arms and face. Fortunately not the shingles side - I haven't had an outbreak for 2 years now and I'd like to keep it that way!

Skipping my Bible study this morning so I can catch up a bit from the craziness of this week. And actually have time to drink my coffee at home. The women who work at the little coffee shop on campus now laugh when I come for my third or fourth coffee of the day!

ION, my condo-neighbors have finally worked out that, hey, the August fee really *hadn't* been paid, promised to leave a second check, never did, and I just got a reply from a gentle reminder email I sent them about it that indicates that they think they gave it to us already...? or something...? PEOPLE! Get it together, and stop making me hate you, because that is not good for me! (or you)

Nora, would they have tried to slip it under your door, or otherwise left it somewhere for you where you might not have found it yet? And/or can you frame another email enquiry around that idea so that you can communicate to them that no, you have not received it, but that you are not so much with the nagging or accusing them of lying?
