Zoe: Preacher, don't the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing? Book: Quite specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

'War Stories'

Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

not your mom's socks.

Awesome Sparky. I think you have earned your gronk, and your spoiled too.

And we will come sit on your new couch as soon as you tell us to.

do I give mom the news? the grapevine seems slow - she doesn't know your DH has a new job.

Btw - we took mom and dad out to brunch (DH's parents were here also, for his birthday, so it was party weekend) for her birthday yesterday at Valley Green Inn. I wangled a prime-time reservation on the porch for 7 people, and was all psyched to introduce everyone to one of the places I'm really excited about here. Seems the parents (mine) couldn't get motivated, and were about 45 minutes late getting to the house, which made us an hour late getting the table. (and me a little stressy and taken-for-granted-feeling.) But there was luck - the restaurant had another table come open. So we still got to eat. And it was good!

DH's dad brought slides (!) that dated from 1941 all the way through when DH was a toddler. And also their photos from Italy this summer - we had a lot of slide shows this weekend.

Oh God, so full. It's someone's birthday and there was a large selection of cream cakes at lunch. I'm sicky-full, even.

Librarian Warlord

If everyone is going to talk about yummy food, I'm going to regret just having cereal this morning, aren't I?

Sox, I guess you can tell your mother. We'll have you over to the new house after the new furniture arrives so you can oooh-ahhh! properly. Our closing date is Oct 31, and I won't really be able to take off any work until after Thanksgiving so we'll have a very slow move into the new place.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

another week begins! Did not pick apples but Tom did make apple pie. Spent family time on both Saturday and Sunday, and then all the productive stuff I planned to do on Sunday after my folks left did not get done at ALL, due to drinking beer, and perhaps some buttering of hotcakes. Then napping. Then eating pie.

Went to bed at an absurdly early hour last night but am still wiped out. I've been very tossy-turny while sleeping as of late.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Did not pick apples or make pie. But I did get some progress made in arranging this place (need more bookshelves!) and am now waiting for Direct TV to show up. I was going to be good and hold off on cable for a while, but my reception is crappy and the Tivo won't work off antenna. Not on!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The gronk is obviously catchy this morning. I didn't do anything but toss and turn last night.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Heh. Toss. Heh.

Heh. I knew I should have added, "and not in the fun sense."
