You like ships. You don't seem to be looking at the destinations. What you care about is the ships, and mine's the nicest.

Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Suzi, she could go home Tuesday or Wednesday? That's crazy! They replaced an organ!! Surely you should get like, some extra time for that? Madness!

I am ensconced at a friend's house, using her wireless. Yay, wireless. But OMG, a week from now I will be in Seattle, and having to go to sleep because I'll be starting work the next day. AAACK!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

But you don't sleep in a hospital. She will get more rest at home, once they make sure everything else is ok.

When I came home tonight, our neighbors had us over for dinner. We have lived here 10 years and this was a first. It was nice.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Anne, my sympathies...

(again, with my friend the canning and latke fairy)
A most excellent fairy to have. Especially with your backyard.

She continues to heal. She finally got them to give her real food and she said she had a great lunch and a decent dinner. She also did 4 laps around the unit, toting her IV pole and other medical machinery. All good news.
Great news! I am always amazed at how quickly people can get a NEW ORGAN and be up and about and out of the hospital but it's wonderful news!

But OMG, a week from now I will be in Seattle
But, OMG, in the PNW! You'll be here!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

feeling oddly anxious

the insomnia/stressy thing has pretty much gone away since the martial arts started.

I start my new schedule tuesday. New teacher. And earlier times. I'm going to have to leave work early two days a week and I won't be with the friend I've been training with and and and...

Oy. Why am I freaking? If I can't get to class on time we'll change the schedule. I haven't heard a bad thing about my new teacher. sighhh

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Errr... Um.... I probably shouldn't disillusion all you unbuttered folk, but the original comment referred to me spotting him some allergy meds.

Sorry, no, that's my fault. I mean, I did understand that your metaphor wasn't supposed to be smutty, but, y'know - my inner twelve year old couldn't let that one by without adding a bit of "...in my pants" humour.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Sigh. Can't sleep. Again.

Finally finished up grading, though. Well, still need to record the grades, but I am way too sick of looking at these papers, so I'll do that tomorrow morning.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Sorry, no, that's my fault. I mean, I did understand that your metaphor wasn't supposed to be smutty,

Oh dear, Fay. No problem at all. I left off the context of Daniel's metaphor so that people could enjoy it with their inner 12 year olds. I thought the reveal might be mildly amusing.

I am vw. Coffee might keep me upright this morning, but I doubt it will get me moving.

The good news is that the house inspection went well, and all the defects listed are easy fixes. We asked for $500 to repair something that's wrong along with a defect to which it is related. So, none of this involves big money in the scheme of things.

And remember how I threatened to go to the Stickley sale? I did. My DH was even with me and he didn't stop me, so the new couch, chair and coffee table? All his fault. Hee! I feel incredibly spoiled this morning, despite the fact that I've scrimped and saved for this for years.
